The Story Behind Little Oaks Library

Carefully Chosen Stories for Curious Young Minds

Finding beautiful, high-quality children’s books shouldn’t feel overwhelming.

Yet for many parents and Early Years settings, finding books that are engaging, age-appropriate and connected to meaningful themes takes time they simply don’t have.

Little Oaks Library was created to make that easier.

As an Early Years professional with over 20 years of experience, I’ve spent my career helping children learn, grow and make sense of the world around them. Throughout that time, one thing has remained constant: the power of a good story.

Stories build language.

Stories spark curiosity.

Stories inspire play.

And perhaps most importantly, stories create moments of connection between children and the adults who care.

Books Are Just The Beginning

A great book doesn’t end when the final page is turned.

It sparks questions, inspires imagination and helps children explore the world around them.

That’s why every Little Oaks Library collection is built around a carefully chosen monthly theme.

Whether children are discovering life beneath the waves, exploring seasonal changes or learning about celebrations and traditions, each theme provides meaningful opportunities for reading, conversation, play and learning.

Books Chosen to Inspire Curiosity, Play and Learning

Throughout my years working in nurseries, as a nursery manager and most recently as a childminder, I’ve spent countless hours searching for books to support children’s interests and learning.

Every title included in a Little Oaks Library box is personally selected by me for its storytelling, illustrations, language and ability to capture children’s imaginations.

The result is a collection of books that can be enjoyed again and again, becoming treasured favourites in homes and Early Years settings alike.

Hi, I’m Abbie

I’m the founder of Little Oaks Library, an Early Years professional and mom of two.

Little Oaks Library exists to help families and Early Years settings discover stories that inspire curiosity, deepen learning and create meaningful moments together.

My hope is that every box brings a sense of excitement, a new theme to explore and new opportunities to read, play and connect.

Because some of the most meaningful childhood memories begin with a story.
